Canadian photographer's ice bubble goes viral (VIDEO)
#BubbleMadness is now trending on Twitter all thanks to Calgary photographer, Chris Ratzlaff.
Produced for an article in the latest issue of PhotoEd Magazine, Ratzlaff, a member of the Canadian Storm Chasers and has amassed nearly 250,000 views of his video of freezing bubbles posted to Twitter on Boxing Day.
It’s cold enough to freeze your bubbles off this morning!@PrairieChasers @PhotoEdCANADA pic.twitter.com/ZRYfuQBhey

More freezing of bubbles. Now, better lighting and corn syrup has been added to my mixture of dish soap and salt (had to wait for Sobeys to open 😉)@PrairieChasers @PhotoEdCANADA pic.twitter.com/batEJwiXWW

Freezing bubble this time using “Soft Soap” instead of dish soap. Crystals are a bit better@PrairieChasers @PhotoEdCANADA pic.twitter.com/1nd2dAW18F

What would #BubbleMadness be without a more produced video? (that’ll never go as viral as the vid captured with the smartphone 😜)@PrairieChasers #abwx

Ratzlaff has happily shared the recipe for these frozen spheres produced by blowing a mix of warm water, corn syrup, dish soap, and sugar, and Canadians are responding with admiration and imitation.
My first attempt at ice bubbles turned out pretty well i think 🙂 @ratzlaff @jessebeyerWX @joshclassenCTV #yeg #yegwx pic.twitter.com/0PXsvdMVqX

After a morning of attempting to re-create @ratzlaff’s bubble freezing video, the man himself came out and showed us how it’s done – apparently it’s all about having the right bubble making mixture #NewsYouCanUse pic.twitter.com/6fAHUbMwoY
