Candy recalled across Canada due to pieces of metal
You might want to check your snack cabinet because a brand of candy is part of a major recall across Canada.
On Monday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced the recall of a brand of candy sold in Canada due to “extraneous material.”
“FreezYums! brand Freeze Dried Candy Sour Key Gummy recalled due to pieces of metal,” stated the agency.
The CFIA urges consumers not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected product. The affected lot comes in a 63 g bag with the universal product code 8 02962 38817 8, and codes BB: 2026 NO 01 052025LOT1.

The agency did not mention any reported injuries; however, it has categorized it as a class two recall.
According to its website, the CFIA “determines the most appropriate action to mitigate the risk, including whether or not to request a food recall.” A class two recall means that “there is a moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life threatening health problems.”
A recall for the affected product was initiated by Osiris Inc.
“Most recalls in Canada are voluntary, meaning that they are conducted by the responsible company with oversight from the CFIA,” stated the agency.
