Canada Post is hiring for jobs around B.C. and some don't require much experience

If you’re looking for a new job and are willing to relocate for a work opportunity, Canada Post is currently hiring for dozens of positions around B.C.

The Crown corporation currently has job openings for several positions, ranging from mail carriers to retail operations.

In Squamish, there is a full-time opening for a rural and suburban mail carrier.

This position requires applicants to reside within 75 km of the post office where this job is located.

Responsibilities include sorting, collecting, and delivering mail items in a timely and safe manner, acquiring and maintaining knowledge of local roads and delivery routes, and ensuring mail is safely secured in delivery receptacles.

Applicants will also need to drive for this job, and having a satisfactory driving record is required, as well as possessing a valid, permanent provincial driver’s licence.

There are also a bunch of jobs available in Kelowna, including 32 openings for volume counter mail operations and one vacancy for a rural and suburban mail carrier.

The volume counter mail operations position pays $23.82 per hour and is a temporary job. The job responsibilities include assisting and preparing offices for a volume count, counting letter mail and oversized mail and recording totals, and assisting with analysis.

This is a great job for individuals with little experience, as it only requires a Grade 10 education and basic skills in communication and math.

On Vancouver Island, there are also a number of openings, including 12 vacancies for letter carriers in Victoria, an operations relief supervisor in Courtenay, and a post office assistant in Tofino.

If you’re looking for jobs within Metro Vancouver, Canada Post is currently hiring for two retail postal clerks in Vancouver. This position pays $23.81 per hour and is an on-call job.

Eligible applicants should be open to working a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.

Customer service skills are required, and other responsibilities include maintaining floor displays, conducting merchandising and inventory control, and operating a computer point of sale system.

Canada Post is also hiring 10 parcel support postal clerks at its Richmond plant. Responsibilities for this job include the operation of material handling equipment, sorting, scanning, and sequencing batch mail items, and transferring and dispatching parcels and packets.
