Intimate seating? Soft music? Dim lights? What’s the first criteria to be considered one of OpenTable’s 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in Canada? It’s actually that the restaurant be part of the OpenTable network of reservations, so that narrows the field a bit.
“The list of honourees is based on an analysis of 480,000+ reviews of more than 1,900 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified OpenTable diners,” explains OpenTable.

So take this ranking with a grain of salt if you’re going to book something for February 14 for you and your sweetie. It’s more like a starting point.
Instead, consider holding hands across the table at Jules Bistro in Gastown, or splitting an excellent bottle of wine and exploring Chef Andrea Carlson’s inspired cuisine at her intimate Burdock & Co. You also might want to cozy up in the candlelight of Wildebeest, or dress to impress at Hawksworth, instead. You’ll just have to make your reservations directly with them.
