Ranked sixth in the world after their win over the Dutch, Morocco will be the heavy favourites to advance to the quarter-finals over the 30th-ranked Canadians.
The match is scheduled for Saturday in Houston and can be viewed at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT on CTV and TSN in Canada.
This is the second consecutive men’s World Cup to feature a match between Canada and Morocco. Morocco won 2-1 four years ago in Qatar, though Canada was inches away from earning a draw.
The winner of Saturday’s match will advance to the quarter-finals in Boston. That match will be against one of France, Sweden, or Paraguay, who upset Germany in the Round of 32 on Monday.
The other Round of 32 match to take place on Monday saw Brazil beat Japan 2-1.
Three knockout stage matches are on tap for Tuesday: Côte d’Ivoire vs. Norway, France vs. Sweden, and Mexico vs. Ecuador.
