These were the friendliest places in Canada during 2018

Everyone already knows that Canada is full of friendly faces and now, thanks to Booking.com, we’ll know where Canada’s friendliest faces are too.
The digital travel platform website recently released the results of their seventh annual Guest Review Awards for 2018 and among the awards was its first ever top ten “Most Welcoming Places in Canada.”
The website filtered customer reviews from over 759,845 properties across 219 countries around the globe and dwindled down the top friendliest places in Canada, according to their customers.
According to Booking.com, the reviews are based on real guests, real experiences and real reviews, which are a core differentiator for properties to attract new clients.

The study found that of the most welcoming properties in the country, four out of the five are alternative accommodation options: B&Bs (1,568), apartments (1,048), hotels (1,987), motels (600), and inns (486).
The research found that over one quarter (26%) of travellers say that they prefer unique and quirky accommodation over more traditional places.
The survey also shows that 29% of Canadian travellers want to stay in an “accommodation type they’ve never experienced before in 2019.”
As per Booking.com, to be recognized with an award, properties had to have an average review score of 8.0 or higher based on at least five reviews as of 11:59 pm (CET) on October 31, 2018.
Only customers that have actually stayed at an accommodation can leave a review of their experience on their site.
