An estimated 450,000 people gathered around the waters of Burrard Inlet Wednesday night to watch a two-barge fireworks display celebrating Canada’s 148th birthday.
Fireworks were launched from a barge in downtown Vancouver at Coal Harbour, just beyond Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, and from a secondary barge at West Vancouver off Ambleside Beach.
The Canada Day at Canada Place festivities are the largest Canada Day celebrations in the country outside the capital in Ottawa.
