Cameron Eugene Ratelle, a convicted sex offender who was subject of a public warning on May 18, has been arrested according to the VPD.
Thirty-eight-year-old Ratelle is a federal offender who has been convicted of multiple sexual assaults against young women in Ontario and BC.
Vancouver Police were informed that on May 15, Ratelle would be relocating to a halfway house in Vancouver. He has since been monitored by the High Risk Offender Unit.
Ratelle, who is described as black, 5’8” tall, 185 lbs., with a stocky build, shaved head, and brown eyes, was arrested on the afternoon of May 24 when he was observed breaching a non-violent condition of his statutory release.
He remains in custody.
“Public safety remains a priority of the VPD,” Constable Jason Doucette said in a statement. “We will continue to closely monitor high-risk offenders living in Vancouver.”
