Dozens of trips on 76 bus routes routes cancelled on Monday due to transit strike

Nov 18 2019, 6:12 pm

On Monday morning, dozens of bus trips along 76 different routes were cancelled due to the transit strike.

A number of popular routes were affected by the cancellations, including the 3, 84, and 95, to name a few.

The cancellations also come after an announcement made by Unifor last Friday, which declared that an overtime ban for bus operators would come into effect. The union that represents nearly 5,000 Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) employees said that service would be reduced by up to 10%.

TransLink warned customers that the job action would be difficult to predict and that a number of routes would have gaps in service and possible overcrowding.
