Burnaby RCMP is requesting the public’s help in identifying the remains of a man found in March 2019.

The remains were located in a forested area in North Burnaby, and police say they had been there since March 2013.

Foul play is not suspected.

The man is described as being between 40 and 60 years of age, 5’3″ to 5’4″ tall with black hair worn in a ponytail.

When he died he was wearing the following:

  • A green hoodie with “Athletic” printed in white on the front
  • A black and yellow jacket
  • A “Pro Sport” branded backpack

Mounties collaborated with the BC Coroners Service, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner, and the New York Academy of the arts to reconstruct the unknown man’s face.

“We’re really hoping these images will spark someone’s memory,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP.

“We’re asking for the public to have a look and please let us know if you have any information that can help us identify this man.”
