Hats Off Day

What: A big street party by Burnaby Heights merchants to celebrate the community and their customers. Enjoy music, food, kids activities, a show and shine, and more.

18th Annual Rotary Wine and Food Fest

What: Enjoy an evening of wine sampling, craft beer and small plates from local restaurants. Win great prizes in the silent auction or raffle. Then dance the night away to the sounds of Hastings.

Eco-Centre Open House

What: As part of Burnaby’s Environment Week, head to the City’s Eco-Centre Open House and learn about what they accept, where materials go, and help close the loop on Food Scraps Recycling by picking up a bag of free compost. Limit of 2 bags of compost per residential property (proof of Burnaby residency required). Limited supplies available, first come, first served.

Kitten Yoga with VOKRA

What: In collaboration with VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association), Yoga Spirit & Wellness hosts cat yoga! Join in a special yoga class where your practice will be accompanied by a litter of playful kittens. All proceeds go to VOKRA and students can receive a $30 tax receipt for their investments.

Burnaby Chalk Art Experience

2019 Harry Jerome International Track Classic

What: 2019 marks the 36th anniversary of the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome International Track Classic. Since 1983, the event has provided an opportunity for top Canadians to compete against athletes from around the world. This one day competition is an important step in meeting critical Olympic and World Championships qualifying standards.

Scandinavian Midsummer Festival

What: Thousands of people visit the Scandinavian Community Centre every year to celebrate the traditions and festivities of Scandinavian Midsummer. In 2019, it will be the 24th time a Midsummer Festival is held, with fun-filled activities, living history and non-stop entertainment for the whole family.

Pacific Assistance Dogs Society Open House

What: Free fun for the whole family. Tour PADS’ training facility, watch assistance dog demonstrations, and meet the PADS Puppies. Plus enjoy the BBQ lunch and meet the guest speakers Assistance dogs welcome. Please no pets.
