This burger stuffed with Peanut Butter Cups takes things too far

Canada’s love of burgers runs deep. So deep, in fact burger joints across the country are persistently trying to out-burger each other, doing everything and anything they can to make their stacked creations stand above the rest.

The result: Some truly absurd and ridiculously over-the-top ingredient pairings, like the Maple Bacon Donut Burger that was available in Vancouver at this year’s PNE.

Now one Ontario gourmet burger chain has taken the burger mash-up to a whole new horrifying level.

The WORKS Burger Bistro has just revealed their Reese PBC burger. This monstrous looking hamburger is comprised of a half-pound patty, topped with bacon, crispy onion strings, and stuffed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. That’s right you read that correctly: There are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups inside this burger!

Over the top? We think so. Sure this burger brings some excitement, gorging on a new food combo that brings all your favourite foods together; bread good, meat good, bacon good, chocolate good, but it also scares the bejesus out of us. Who isn’t grossed-out by this insanely indulgent mix of sweet and savoury?

If the candy stuffed patty wasn’t satisfying or terrifying enough, the restaurant has added an extra layer of Reese’s crumbs on top.

Sweet and savoury combos have worked in the past (chocolate peanut butter pretzel bites anyone?), so we’re betting plenty of people will probably still give this almighty burger a go. Yes, even despite the cancer-causing bacon. The WORKS is also enticing mega burger fans in with other “stuffed” specials, like the Burgeroni (yep, it’s got pepperoni in it) and the Loaded Lucy (a take on the cheese-filled Juicy Lucy).
