With the federal election on April 28 creeping closer and closer, one Metro Vancouver restaurant is offering a different approach to the standard surveys going around: by ordering a burger.

From today until April 27, you can head down to Burger Heaven in New Westminster to vote for your favourite federal election candidate in this unofficial survey.

There are five different options to choose from, which include:

  • The Mark Carney Burger (Liberal Party): A burger “aiming to spice things up with ingredients that are indigenous to the country” featuring Alberta medium-aged cheddar, zesty sauce, crisp lettuce, a liberal slab of bacon, and tomato.
  • The Pierre Poilievre Burger (Conservative Party): Cooked with relish and includes a conservative slice of tangy Alberta-aged cheese, aromatic onion, and zesty sauce. Burger Heaven also said this “‘platter’-form can come with mushrooms (not mushrooming expenses)” and can also include “pickled (we want to) ‘beet’ the current ruling party.”
  • The Jagmeet Singh Burger (New Democratic Party): Burger Heaven said this burger is “‘Singh’ing the praises of a Nicely Done Patty of ‘Lean-to-the-Left’ Prime Grade A Beef as it tries to gain ‘ground’ on the rear left burner by stirring the pot with promises
of affordability.” It includes strong “O(u)nions, tomatoes, tangy sauce, Scarborough orange cheddar, all served on a multigrain bun.
  • The Elizabeth May /Jonathan Pedneault Burger (Green Party): This handheld is served with a dollop of green relish, a dollop of “May-o,” a slice of organic garden tomato and Saanich goat cheese, and is cooked in a controlled carbon-free area on a back burner and offers the option of a green lettuce wrap. “This burger is popular with our food-conscious customer concerned about ecological issues and their political diet,” said Burger Heaven.
  • The Yves-François Blanchet Burger (Bloc Québécois): Served with crisp greens, french dressing, piquant sauce, a dab of French mustard, et fromage bleu du Quebec. Burger Heaven calls this burger a “Chip off the old Bloc” and says it’s “‘separated’ from the rest in the proverbial political frying pan.”

There is also an option called the “(B)UNdecided” for those who are not sure which burger candidate they want to select at the moment.

For those unfamiliar with Burger Heaven, the restaurant has been serving up its tasty handhelds since 1984.

Results of the polls will be released on an ongoing basis.
