'The time has come for us to say goodbye': Vancouver restaurant to close after 20 years

Joining the long string of restaurant closures we saw last year, Vancouver Italian restaurant Buca di Roma has announced that it will be closing its doors before the end of the month.
“After many unforgettable years around the table, the time has come for us to say goodbye,” wrote the restaurant on Instagram.
The restaurant, located in Vancouver’s Arbutus Ridge neighbourhood along Macdonald Street, has been in operation for 20 years. It’s best known for its selection of Italian favourites, including antipasti like focaccia and bruschetta, pasta, and more, in addition to a standout selection of wine.
“What started as a restaurant became a place of connection, celebration, and shared moments ā and that’s because of you,” added Buca di Roma.
“Thank you for every visit and every plate shared. This community has meant more to us than words can say.”

Many took to the comments to share how much they would miss the Italian restaurant.
“Oh nooooo! That is so sad. What a beautiful space with amazing food. Thank you for all your hard work!” wrote one user.
“I am beyond heartbroken. I’ll be in before you close,” added another.
“Nooooooooooooooo šššššš,” said a third.
