Walk down Alberni Street between Thurlow and Burrard these days and you can’t help but notice the change that has taken place. As retailers continue to look for the ideal location in Vancouver to open up shop, it seems as though Alberni Street is the street high end retailers have settled upon. On or near Alberni you have Hermes, Tiffany’s, Agent Provocateur (now closed), Burberry, Coach, Lacoste, Louis Vuitton and now Brooks Brothers.
For those unfamiliar with Brooks Brothers, just know its billed as the ultimate American suit. This has been the suit of choice for many presidents in the past such as JFK and Bill Clinton. Who knows maybe Obama has some BB suits in his wardrobe.
Now armed with an Italian designer at the helm, Brooks Brothers is looking to take over the world. Its first store in Canada will be in Vancouver, with T.O. and Cowtown to follow soon after. The store will be located across the street from the Italian Kitchen.
Why Vancouver you ask? Well contrary to the many people on the internet who bash this city repeatedly, we are firmly on the radar as a world destination. As a newly minted world destination more and more high end retailers will look to open up shop in the city.
Brooks Brothers has product offerings for both men and women, but it is their mens suits that set them apart. The suits are ideal for that day at the office or a night out on the town. The price range is decent as well, see Hugo Boss or D&G for comparison.
