Richardson had two impressive seasons with Vancouver, playing a strong two-way game on the team’s third line. But with the Canucks pushing a youth movement, Richardson no longer fit into their plans.
Richardson had 21 points in 45 games last season.
This move likely means more ice time for young centres Bo Horvat and Linden Vey.
