IHIT investigating death of 11-year-old found in "medical distress" in Fraser Valley home

Homicide investigators are continuing to probe the death of an 11-year-old boy, after he was found in “medical distress” at a home in Agassiz last Friday.

According to Cpl. Frank Jang with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) the boy died in hospital on Monday.

“There will be an autopsy sometime this week to determine cause of death and to gather any other forensic evidence,” Jang told Daily Hive.

IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation, after emergency crews who responded to the home found the boy suffering from what Jang described as “suspicious” injuries.

He did not elaborate further on what – or how extensive – the injuries were.

Jang did note, however, that the incident is isolated, and there are no public safety concerns.
