Shipwrecked: Boat catches fire off the coast of Wreck Beach

Just after 5 p.m., a speed boat caught fire off the coast of Vancouver’s Wreck Beach.

Fire crews responded to the incident and managed to rescue the passengers safely.

“We just saw a ball of fire and heard an explosion,” one reader told Vancity Buzz.

It’s currently unknown as to what the cause of the fire is.
