Blueprint Teams Up With Soul Good to Launch OWN Saturdays at The Caprice Nightclub

Blueprint has teamed up with Soul Good, Vancouver’s biggest urban club promoters, to bring a new weekly Saturday night to The Caprice Nightclub and L.E.D. Bar on Granville Street.

Beginning on October 4, Blueprint, with Soul Good, will launch OWN Saturdays, featuring the largest roster of Vancouver’s premiere urban DJs, who will bring a flavourful evening of Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Reggae, Trap beats and more to downtown Vancouver’s entertainment district, every Saturday night.

With over fifteen years of experience in the scene, Soul Good was founded by current owner and Vancouver local, Pedro Serra and his business partner Sean Gauthier, who passed away in October of 2010 from a rare and evasive Cancer called Angiosarcoma. Both shared an infectious energy and passion for the urban culture, music and market and developed relationships that allowed them to emerge as spearheads in the urban music scene.

Serra first got his start throwing smaller, yet buzzed about, inner-city parties, and in 2004 he was approached by Luce’s nightclub to help with promoting a weekly urban night. From there, he began collaborating with well-known party-promoters GMAN & RIZK, where he was inspired to further leverage his success and expertise. Working closely with Gauthier, in 2005, Soul Good blossomed  – and the company first made its mark by launching a weekly club night at Pure Nightclub to huge success, reviving the club and its chronic suffering from attendance.

Own saturdays small

For Blueprint, the relationship with Soul Good goes back to September of 2012 following the entertainment company’s purchase of Shine Nightclub in Gastown, where Soul Good had been operating one of the hottest urban music nights in Vancouver, iShine Saturdays, for over three years. Immediately bonding with Serra and his now business partner, Michael Alcantara, Blueprint maintained iShine Saturdays where the weekly event grew so popular the nightclub’s capacity could no longer house the turn-out of guests who were eager to be in the mix.

OWN Saturdays will be an epic continuation of the legendary, high energy iShine Saturdays, with all resident DJs making the move to The Caprice and connecting L.E.D Bar. OWN Saturdays will also have a fresh new flavour as EDM Trap sounds are introduced to the mix. With the club’s 9,000 square feet of space, and two-room, multi-level system, Blueprint and Soul Good are expecting the night to bring fresh sounds and vibes to countless Vancouverites each week.

Nate Sabine, Director of Marketing for Blueprint expands on the partnership with Soul Good and the company’s decision to launch OWN Saturdays at The Caprice and L.E.D. Bar, “At Blueprint, we are all about the music, and these guys are so immersed in the urban music scene, we had an immediate connection with them. iShine Saturdays was huge for our city in terms of developing the urban music scene, and by taking that, freshening it up and making it bigger and better than ever at The Caprice, we’re expecting to see this night take off like never before.”

Pedro Serra of Soul Good believes the partnership with Blueprint is a chance to further the relationship with entertainment house even further, and look towards future and long-term opportunities. “Blueprint’s got this family element to their team that extends into the culture we’ve been so immersed in since we were kids, so being able to continue to work with them to launch OWN Saturdays is such an honour and we can’t wait to see it go off. For us, the opportunity to have a greater presence at future Blueprint shows and events is a huge step forward for sharing our passion.”
