This is what Black Friday lineups look like at Metrotown so far (PHOTOS)

Perhaps it’s a sign of e-commerce taking over the retail scene, or maybe the crowds have yet to hit the malls. Either way, if you were considering some early to mid-day shopping, Metrotown might not be a bad idea.

A few hundred eager shoppers have made their way into the mall early this morning, although there are few crowds or lineups to be seen.

The busiest area of the mall, so far, looks to be the customer kiosks, which offer shoppers bonus credit when purchasing a $250 gift card.

As for retailers, the Sportchek, Zara, and Apple look to be drawing the most customers.

UNIQLO, unlike last year, isn’t drawing heavy crowds just yet. The 2018 Black Friday event at the Japanese retailer saw the release of a KAWS x Sesame Street collaboration, which drew hefty lineups.

This year, however, there were no lines to be seen.

Other stores like H&M and Banana Republic had no lines either.

So, if you’re tempted to sneak off for some early morning shopping, Metrotown won’t be a bad place to start. Just don’t expect the lack of crowds and lineups to last into the evening.
