A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital Friday afternoon after being bitten by a black bear in a North Vancouver park.
The BC Conservation Officer Service said on Facebook that the girl was walking with her family along the Rice Lake Loop when they encountered the bear around 3 pm.

A bystander helped scare the bear away, and luckily no one else was hurt. The girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the BC COS said.
Their Predator Attack team is searching for the bear, and the park is closed to the public until further notice.
