5 apps to digitize your wedding planning

Dec 20 2017, 12:06 am

The days of carting around a hefty tabbed binder are long gone. Wedding planning has gone digital, and you should too.

Here are five wedding planning apps that will help you to digitize your best day:

1. Appy Couple – For guest communication

For a one-time sign-up fee of $35 for the Boutique Collection or $69 for the Luxury Collection, Appy Couple allows users to create a stylish wedding website and app that keeps everyone organized. Couples can send save-the-dates and email invites, build guest lists, manage RSVPs, share information about their gift registry, wedding party and more. The app is simple and free for guests to use and keeps everything about your big day in one spot.

2. Evernote – For collaborative planning

Providing a workspace that syncs across your phone, tablet and computer, Evernote serves as a digital notebook that you can take anywhere and that you and your partner can access and update in real-time. Write to-do lists, clip images or articles, upload contracts and invoices and chat with one another all via this free app. Compatible with any operating system, Evernote is one handy tool for collaborative planning.

3. Pinterest – For inspiration

We’re all familiar with this digital pinboard where the web is reduced only to the things you love. Never is this app (and its website) more handy than when you’re getting married. Pinterest is free and allows you to create inspiration boards, both public and private, that are made up of visual bookmarks (or pins) of inspiration you find anywhere around the web or right on Pinterest. The best part is that it’s all saved in one spot so that you can easily go back and reference the source site or pull an image to show to a vendor.

4. The Knot Wedding Planner – For budget tracking and more

The Knot Wedding Planner allows you to access and input your wedding planning details anytime, anywhere, for free. We especially love the easy-to-use budget tool, allowing you to stay up to date with how much you’ve spent and what’s still to come. This app also gives you access to thousands of ideas from real weddings which you can filter by category and colour.

5. Wedding Party – For photo sharing

Looking for a spot to collect and organize all of the photos from your engagement party to your wedding day without having to bug your family and friends to send them around? Wedding Party is a great way to gather all the photos and memories in one spot, and it’s free for you and your guests. After your wedding, you’ll be able to log into your Wedding Party account and download the whole folder of photos shared by your guests.
