A Vancouver hotel has been named the best MICE establishment in the entire province, thanks to some newly refreshed meeting and event spaces.
MICE has nothing to do with rodents, but stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.
The Westin Bayshore, located in Vancouver’s iconic Coal Harbour, was named the best hotel for MICE, being called the “perfect backdrop for high-impact conferences, high-profile galas and milestone celebrations.”
Westin received the honour as part of the World MICE Awards.
“The Westin Bayshore offers a stunning waterfront setting beside Stanley Park and Coal Harbour. With 499 spacious guest rooms and suites showcasing views of the city and water, the hotel blends urban convenience with resort-style amenities,” the award organization said.
Some of the food options at the Westin also received recognition.
“One of Western Canada’s largest hotel conference venues, the property boasts over 71,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space. Amenities include indoor and outdoor heated pools, cedar barrel saunas, and exceptional dining at H2 Kitchen + Bar, H Tasting Lounge, and T & Co Café.”
Westin’s Vida Spa also got a nod, with the World MICE Awards saying that it’s a great place to unwind and stay energized.
Other nominees for British Columbia’s best MICE hotel included Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel and JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler won an award for British Columbia’s best incentive hotel.
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre was named Canada’s best convention centre.
