The best Vancouver barbershops for a perfect summer fade

Jun 16 2025, 9:24 pm

We’re already living in meteorological summer, but the official start of summer arrives later this week, so we thought we’d highlight some Vancouver barbershops that’ll have you looking clean af in the sunshine.

The spots we’re highlighting are suitable for both individuals who want to get in and out without any fuss, as well as those who enjoy good vibes and conversations while getting their haircuts.

Vancouver has no shortage of notable barbershops that cater to men’s hair and beard care; however, many of these locations, while primarily focusing on men’s services, also welcome female clients.

All of the barbershops mentioned in this post are well-reviewed on Google with very strong customer feedback.

Paulie’s Barbershop

Paulie’s Barbershop is located at 4326 Main St., near the Riley Park neighbourhood, and has been operating for nearly ten years, a feat not easily achieved in a challenging neighbourhood. Paulie’s operates in a part of Vancouver that has seen numerous storefronts come and go. Thanks to the relationships owner Paul Donnici and his staff have built with clients, Paulie’s appears to have a strong future ahead of it as a fixture in the community.

You can come in for a haircut, buzzcut, haircut and a beard trim, buzzcut and beard trim, or just a beard trim.

Paulies has a selection of talented hair artists to choose from, and there are plenty of things inside to keep you entertained, including good music, the occasional sports game on the television, Where’s Waldo books (the whole collection!) and Stella the dog.

The shop also offers a convenient online booking system that’ll add your scheduled cut to your iPhone or Google calendar.

Regal Grooming Lounge

Regal Grooming Lounge, which specializes in men’s grooming, is located on Hornby Street. It’s more than a barbershop, offering clients a luxurious experience from start to finish, which can even include a refreshing cold beverage.

“Our standards are impeccably high, and our barbers are the best in the city,” Regal proclaims on its website.

Located on 415 Hornby St., Regal offers a wide variety of services, specializing in cuts and beard grooming.

Knowledge Barbers

With two locations, Knowledge Barbers is renowned for its slick fades. One nice thing about Knowledge is that it offers a variety of prices for customers, with prices based on the barber’s experience, ranging from $35 to $60.

It’s also a shop that’s recognized for its community involvement.

Through fundraisers and charitable sports events, they have kickstarted giveback programs for various Vancouver organizations, including the Chinatown Merchants Association, Right To Play Canada, and youth sports teams at St. Patrick’s Secondary (their alma mater).

Boombox Barbershop

Boombox Barbershop is more than just a cool name. It’s another shop that offers a variety of services with talented professionals ready to make you look as handsome as ever. As of this post, there is also a promo on the website for 25% off if you’re visiting for the first time.

“A regular day at Boombox has some upbeat tunes being played, sneakers and hair on the floor and some variety of sport on the TV,” the website states.

Head over to the Boombox Instagram page above for a firsthand look at some of the slick work the barbershop is doing.

Sorrento is a long-running barbershop located at 2417 East Hastings. It’s very well-reviewed on Google, with many people stating that they always leave happy.

It’s a great, classic barbershop that evokes memories of a simpler time. They also have an easy booking system where you can text your name to join the waitlist. You can also call the shop.

Visit Sorrento’s website for more information. Note that the shop prefers customers to pay in cash.

Chopped Barbershop

If you’re looking for a shop that offers great cuts for a little bit less, Chopped Barbershop has cuts starting at $32.

It’s highly reviewed for its atmosphere and skill, featuring five stars on Google based on hundreds of reviews. Chopped also offers services not typically found at many barbershops, such as eyebrow threading and waxing services.

The Belmont Barbershop

Calling itself “Vancouver’s best barbershop for style, care and quality cuts,” the Belmont, located at 111 East Broadway, is a “no bs kinda shop” according to one of its customers.

Belmont has been around since 2007 in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver.

While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are recommended according to the Instagram page.

This list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of Farzad’s Barbershop, located in Yaletown and an iconic fixture of the neighbourhood.

“Yaletown’s premier barbershop” has been around since early 2006. Owner and barber Farzad has been in the business for 30 years, according to the website.

“From old school to ultra modern styles, what you ask for is what you get — no fuss, no attitude, and always with the greatest care and attention to detail.”

These nine shops are just a small sampling of the best shops in Vancouver. If you have a shop you’d like to shout out, feel free to mention it in the comments.
