Can't-miss BBQ events in Metro Vancouver this summer

If you check the weather forecast for the next few months, you’ll be happy to see ‘Raincouver’ is not coming back anytime soon.

But is it really summer if we don’t go to a BBQ party and feast on some juicy burgers, ribs, and corn on the cob?

Whether indoor or outdoor, there are many restaurants and places around Metro Vancouver that are perfect for a summer get-together with a few friends.

Steamworks Summer Solstice

Dust off your hula skirts and get ready for the longest day of the year. You can sample five limited release beers there, accompanied by a barbecue, games, giveaways, and more.

Strange Fellows Brewing Midsummer BBQ

As the sun sets on the longest day of the year, people feast, dance, and light bonfires to celebrate the sun’s triumph over darkness. Strange Fellows Brewing’s mid-summer barbecue will be the ideal place to spend a summer night with friends. Corey Curtis will be there to serenade guests with sweet summer tunes, and you can get a burger and a beer for $15.

Rose & Crown Pub First BBQ of the summer

$10 will get you a juicy cheeseburger with a buffet of pasta and potato salad. A DJ and some wild dancing will start after dinner at 9 pm.

Campagnolo Roma Southern BBQ Pop-Up

Come down on July 8 for Campagnolo Roma’s second barbecue party. The restaurant will be roasting a whole hog, briskets, links, and southern inspired sides. You can also expect some good tunes and good beers.

Summer Solstice Indigenous Barbecue

Celebrate the summer solstice week and Indigenous History month with the Stanley Park Ecology Society. Indigenous chef Lauraleigh Paul Yuxweluptun’aat of Bigheart Bannock Catering will be serving a four-course dining experience.

Port Moody Rib Fest

Taking place over three days in Rocky Point Park, this is a FREE community event features live music, craft beers, and family entertainment. Come to enjoy three days of delicious barbecue with friends and family.

Brewery & The Beast

Brewery & The Beast is an annual festival of meat promoting local farms and restaurants. The $100 ticket includes food, beverages, and live music from the Electric Timber Co. with special guests.

This Southern BBQ with Merchants Workshop and DL Chicken Shack is brought to us from Fraser Common Farm Co-op.

RibFest Langley

This August, RibFest Langley looks to take a bite out of Metro Vancouver’s barbecue scene by hosting top ‘ribbers’ from Prairie Smoke, Boss Hogs and more. The event is free and open to families of all ages. There will also be live music and family entertainment throughout the day.
