We all know dates can be a bit stressful, especially if it’s one of the first.

You want to make sure you look fly as hell, be cool, calm, collected, and mostly – you want to pick out the best location possible.

Although I can’t really help you look good or stop you from talking about that one time you sat on a Jolly Rancher and it was stuck to your pants for hours (I swear that never happened to me), but I can help you find the perfect coffee shop to meet at.

Here are my picks for the best Vancouver coffee shops for dates.

It’s French, need I say more? You can have some extravagant desserts including macarons and other French-inspired pastries, delicious coffee, and the location couldn’t be better for a nice, simple date. Again, the French know a thing or two about romance so maybe just consider this place a good go to.

What better way to impress your date then bringing them to one of Vancouver’s most Insta-worthy cafes? Dalina is known for its aesthetically pleasing decor, not to mention the coffee and treats are top notch too.

Chill vibes, great food, coffee, and ample seating – this place is a last-minute planner’s dream. This is definitely one of those shops you should come to no matter what day, but if you want to impress that special someone, be sure to take them to Nemesis then go for a nice walk in the heart of downtown.

This Italian coffee shop has three locations, one in Gastown, one on Denman, and one on West 8th. The reason I singled out the West 8th location is for one reason and one reason alone – the view. The view at night is beyond phenomenal. You’re just outside the city and manage to see everything so clearly from their patio. Do yourself a favour and take your date to Milano on West 8th and just enjoy the view and the company.

A walk in beautiful Coal Harbour is always a great date idea, and the only thing that makes it better is a stop at Giovane in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Grab a couple delicious lattes, maybe share one of their decadent desserts made in-house (sugar buns BTW). What else do you need to start a great date?

Nothing says I want to see you again like a latté and a dozen doughnuts. All this spot’s outposts are in prime locations, so you can sit and enjoy the view, the coffee, and a peanut butter and jelly doughnut.
