Best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver 2015 award winners

The results are in, and we now know the best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver this year.

The Chinese Restaurant Awards have released the results of their 2015 Diners’ Choice Awards, which seeks to find the best in Chinese food all over Vancouver. Perhaps not surprisingly, a fair portion of the winners are located in our area’s most well-known community for excellent Chinese food, Richmond.

This year saw a 42% increase in voter participation, with a total of 33,759 votes cast in a period of 34 days. The Awards organization credits Vancouver’s thriving Chinese culinary industry and the public’s growing interest in Chinese cuisine and specialities from tourists and locals alike for the popularity of Chinese food and their annual awards.

On April 15, the Chinese Restaurant Awards will announce the Critics’ Choice Signature Dish Awards and Food Bloggers’ Choice Awards, rounding out this overview of the best in Chinese food in Metro Vancouver.

For 2015 and their seventh annual awards, the Chinese Restaurant Awards added five categories: Best Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling), Best Five-Spice Beef wrapped in Chinese Pancake, Best Tea-smoked Duck, Best Three Cup Chicken, and Best Original-flavor Egg Waffle. This year they’ve brought back the Best BBQ Shop award, as well.
