British Columbians in need of help around the house or outdoors will soon have a new way to connect with handy people in their community, thanks to the new BCAA Task Marketplace.

The new service is gearing up for a fall launch, with BCAA issuing a callout for “taskers” to register to be part of the virtual job board.

According to Kyla Way, BCAA’s Senior Marketing Manager, Strategic Ventures, Task Marketplace will be a win-win for those who need assistance with a small job and those wanting to make some extra money.

“The online marketplace is where people can find and/or offer basic services for around the home and outdoors,” explained Way to Daily Hive.

“Whether it’s home repairs, cleaning, or yard work, Taskers can offer their services, set their own rates and hours, and get paid securely for their work.”

Some of the examples of jobs that can be filled by a tasker include mounting a TV, raking leaves, painting, cleaning, and assembling furniture.

“We heard from people in BC that they want more confidence in finding local help for small home projects, so we’re creating the BCAA Task Marketplace,” added Way.

“We know everyone is looking for ways to support their local communities and also keep a few more dollars in their bank account at the end of the month.”

The odd jobs marketplace’s launch will mainly focus on the Lower Mainland, but users across the province will have access to post services and look for assistance.

Taskers, small businesses, and those interested in becoming future customers can sign up online for more information.
