A BC woman is the newest women’s marathon record holder, after the Nagoya Women’s Marathon in Japan this past weekend.
On Sunday, 30-year-old Vancouverite Rachel Cliff crossed the finish line with a time of two hours, 26 minutes, and 56 seconds.
The time was good enough to land her in 15th place overall, and broke the previous Canadian record of 2:28:00, which was set in 2013 by Lani Marchant.
And even though Cliff said there were a ‘few bumps” in the road to achieving this feat, she wrote in an Instagram post that she “could not be happier” with the results.
