British Columbians will likely be heading to the polls in the near future.

In a release, the provincial government said BC Premier John Horgan is meeting with Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin today, and will address British Columbians at 11 am today, to discuss “how British Columbians deserve a say in our economic recovery and will decide the future of our province. ”

The meeting with Lieutenant Governor Austin is a required step before a premier can call an election, as the legislature has to be dissolved before a campaign can begin.

BC’s next provincial election was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021.
