From courtroom clerks to mental health workers and executive leadership roles, there’s something for nearly every background.
All the positions listed below offer salaries starting from around $59,000, with some topping $200,000 per year, well beyond B.C.’s living wage threshold.
Several of the positions close in early August, so it’s worth getting your application in soon.
The following B.C. government jobs are open now across the province; some require professional credentials, while others don’t even need a degree.
The BC Prosecution Service is hiring Crown Counsel, with positions available in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Richmond. If you’re within your first five years of call and have criminal law experience, this job could bring in up to $157,576 annually. Applications close Aug. 10.
The Ministry of Finance is hiring an Assistant Deputy Minister of Strategic Communications, a high-level leadership role with a salary range between $172,400 and $220,100 per year. You’ll lead government-wide marketing and advertising campaigns. Apply by Aug. 15.
In Victoria, the government is looking for a Psychiatric Social Worker to support youth in the criminal justice system. The role pays up to $97,633 and requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent, plus clinical experience. Deadline to apply is Aug. 11.
If you’re a nurse with RPN or RN credentials, The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is hiring for multiple full-time and temporary roles. The pay ranges from $72,751 to $107,808, and the work is hands-on with vulnerable youth. Apply by Aug. 7.
There’s also a Court Clerk position available in Quesnel that doesn’t require a degree. As long as you have a high school diploma and some admin experience, you could earn up to $66,749 per year. This one closes on Aug. 13.
The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner is hiring an Adjudicator in Victoria. This one-year role pays up to $125,700 annually and involves reviewing complex legal cases related to privacy and information law. Apply by Aug. 6.
Another high-paying entry-level opportunity is the Probation Officer role in Salmon Arm. With just a two-year diploma and some basic training, you could land a job paying up to $66,749, helping supervise clients under probation or bail. Deadline is July 28.
