If you have one of those OG ‘604’ area codes, you’ll want to hang on to it.

According to the CRTC, area codes 236, 250, 604, and 778 are expected to be exhausted by May 2020.

And so, BC is getting a new area code next year.

The new 672 area code will be used as a relief for the entire province, covering areas that currently include 236, 250, 604, and 778.

The new code will roll out on May 4, 2019, which is 12 months before the revised projected exhaust date as per the CRTC.
