UPDATED: BC Ferries cancels sailings on major route due to high winds

BC Ferries has released a service announcement to its customers, indicating it has cancelled sailings from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay due to adverse weather.

The Queen of New Westminster will not be authorizing a handful of sailings on December 22 due to high winds.

As of 12.20 pm PT, the cancellations are affecting the following routes:

12 pm departing Vancouver (Tsawwassen)
2 pm departing Vancouver Island (Swartz Bay)

A decision will be made for the 4 pm and 6 pm sailing closer to the time.

This is the fourth time this week high winds have forced the service to cancel sailings.
