A region of B.C. was named one of the top global adult travel destinations for spring break this year.
CN Traveller put out a list of the best places to visit, specifically if you’re an adult, because “just because you’re out of school doesn’t mean you can’t uphold the glorious tradition that is spring break,” the publication says.
Vancouver Island was the B.C. region that made CN Traveller’s list, the only Canadian spot to make the ranking, alongside 26 other locales.
“Located just off Canada’s Pacific Coast, Vancouver Island is a scenic chunk of land with Victoria on its south and UNESCO-designated biosphere reserves stretching further north,” CN Traveller says.
CN Traveller calls the B.C. gem the perfect travel destination to rest and recharge before diving back into work for Q2 assignments. It goes on to say that even the most “action-packed” activities, like backcountry hiking and whale watching, offer a “rejuvenating new view of the world.”
Travel specialist, Swaylah Faroqi, had more to say to boast about Vancouver Island.
“From March through May, spring is in the air and cherry blossoms bloom across Victoria and the Gulf Islands,” Faroqi said.
“Temperatures are not freezing, accommodation prices are lower than [in] summer, and popular experiences such as whale watching, hot springs, and coastal hikes feel less crowded before peak season begins in June.”
There are numerous ways to get to the B.C. island now, including BC Ferries, which will take you to Victoria and is currently offering some deals, Hullo Ferries, which will take you to Nanaimo, and various air travel options like Harbour Air and Seair Seaplanes, which can take you to Victoria, Nanaimo and Tofino.
Last year, Vancouver Island was named one of the world’s best places to visit by CNN of all publications.
