BC health officials to provide written COVID-19 update on Tuesday

Health officials in British Columbia are scheduled to give a written COVID-19 update on Tuesday afternoon.

The announcement follows Monday’s live update, which included three reporting periods. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced a total of 1,330 new test-positive COVID-19 cases during a live update, bringing the total number of recorded cases in BC to 61,447.

There were 584 cases reported from Friday to Saturday, 445 from Saturday to Sunday, and 301 from Sunday to Monday.

There are currently 4,326 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. Additionally, there are 343 individuals currently hospitalized with the virus, 68 of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

A reported 6,865 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases, and there have been 31 new COVID-19-related deaths. To date, there have been 1,078 deaths in BC.

A total of 54,656 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered.
