Wear jeans on Thursday for BC Children’s Hospital Jeans Day

Dec 19 2017, 11:01 pm

Tomorrow, Thursday, April 30, thousands of people across British Columbia and the Yukon will proudly wear their favourite pair of jeans on Jeans Day™ in support of BC Children’s Hospital.

It’s super easy to participate: buy a button ($5) or a lapel pin ($20) at one of the official retailers and wear your jeans.

Donations from Jeans Day™ go towards supporting kids like Claire and Aubrey Fox, who have both been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As children with this disease, they have come to understand that it is an ever changing battle. Learning and adapting to the changes and complexities that come with life with juvenile diabetes, BC Children’s Hospital has become a lifeline for the Foxes.

“Jeans Day™ has a huge impact on care at BC Children’s Hospital because every year thousands of individuals and organizations in communities across BC and the Yukon decide that children matter, and that they need our help,” said Teri Nicholas, president and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “It really does take a team to support sick and injured children and we are grateful to everyone who joins that team with the purchase of a button or lapel pin. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference.”

On Thursday, April 30, stop by the Vancouver Art Gallery from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the BC Children’s Hospital annual Jeans Day™ barbecue. Not only will there be a delicious menu supplied by the Glowbal Restaurant Group, Sunny Bear from BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and FIN from the Vancouver Canucks will be there to give high-fives and hugs all afternoon long.
