It’s an unimaginable situation no one wants to be in, but it’s all too real for one BC family, whose baby was attacked by the family dog, recently.

Now the baby is currently recovering at BC Children’s Hospital, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.

According to the page’s creator, Daniel Hill, the incident took place on the night of May 31st, at 9 pm.

“This sweet baby, Kade, was attacked by the families (sic) dog,” Hill writes. “My brothers (sic) wife, Amber, and Kade were taken by jet to Vancouver Children’s hospital.”

Adam made the trip to Vancouver by vehicle, to “make it before Kade went to the operating room.”

“Kade was rushed into the OR and was in surgery for almost 5 hours,” writes Hill. “Once out of surgery they were told his optical bone on his right eye, and nose were completely shattered and required extensive repair.”

The recovery process, he adds, “will result in numerous trips back to Vancouver as well.”

In addition, the family’s oldest boy, Ty, will require some counselling, “as he witnessed the entire thing.”

Hill explains that the GoFundMe page was set up to help cover the family’s expenses for all of this, as well as rent, as Adam – who is the sole provider of the household –”has been off of work and will not have enough to cover all the expenses of bill, rent, medication and the trips back to Vancouver again.”

Hill says any help is greatly appreciated, “even if it’s just a share” on social media.

“Thank you on behalf of Kade, Ty, Amber and Adam,” he concludes.
