The BC Beer Awards team just announced its annual judging and festival has been cancelled for 2020.
Organizers made this difficult decision in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that the recently announced restart plan in BC would not make the awards and festival possible.

“We are unsure of the possibility of a second wave [of COVID-19 infections] come the Fall, and of the ability to run an event of our size,” says Amanda Barry-Butchart, BC Beer Awards director.
“We felt it was best to halt planning now rather than down the road, to avoid upset.”
The team said “given the ongoing uncertainty” they believe cancelling “is best for our breweries and sponsors.”
Organizers look forward to welcoming everyone at the 2021 beer awards next year.
