Warmer weather is just around the corner, and a B.C. beach has been named one of the best in the world for travellers.

NDTV Travel, which covers topics from around the globe, recently unveiled its list of the top six longest beaches on Earth.

Long Beach on Vancouver Island made the list of the beach destinations “worth visiting,” according to NDTV.

“Long Beach spans 16 km, making it shorter than the giants on this list but still one of the most notable in North America,” said NDTV.

“Its name reflects its dramatic open views and expansive sandy plains.”

The 34,800-acre beach-lined rainforest is located in the most northern part of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

The B.C. beach is also part of a protected area of the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

“[Long Beach] is part of a protected national park, known for its storm-watching seasons, misty mornings, and surf culture,” added NDTV.

“These long, quiet shores remind us how peaceful and powerful nature can be.”

The B.C. beach isn’t the only local destination to receive recommendations for world travellers this year.

BBC Travel recently revealed its 20 best places to travel in 2026, and the Slocan Valley in B.C.’s West Kootenay region is the only Canadian spot to make the list.

Lonely Planet, which covers the world’s “most extraordinary places and experiences,” recently revealed that the province is one of the 25 must-visit destinations for the year to come.

Four B.C. destinations were also named top travel spots for Canadians this winter, including Vancouver and Whistler.
