Set your buns free at this bottomless run at Wreck Beach this weekend

It’s that time of the year again to free the buns.

The 22nd annual Wreck Beach Bare Buns Run takes place this Sunday, August 4. And while it is called the Bare Buns Run, runners have the option to be fully clothed, partially clothed if you feel a little shy, or in your birthday suit.

It is a five-km-long run and medals are awarded to the top three male and female runners under various age categories.

For people who want to run with their friends, there are also three team categories that you can sign up for: male, female, and mixed. Certificates of participation will be awarded to every runner.

Bare Buns Run also “promotes body acceptance through nude recreation.”

Proceeds go toward the Wreck Beach Preservation Society, which has a mandate to preserve Wreck Beach “in as nearly a natural state as possible.”

Sunday looks to be a hot one so this might be a good way to stay cool. The run happens this Sunday, rain or shine.
