The arcade will be accessible via the app store with its own dedicated tab.
Apple Arcade games will be playable on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, as well as Apple TV, and users will be able to freely switch between devices.
One advantage that Apple is offering is that every game will be playable offline – once it’s downloaded, no internet connection is required.
New games will be introduced on a monthly basis and family sharing will be available at no additional charge.
The announcement also teased gameplay for several games. No official titles have been released, although the selection looks to include a number of platformers, RPGs, and shooters.
Apple Arcade will be released to the public come Fall 2019 and will be available in 150 countries and regions.
No information on pricing has been released at this time.
