Anthem Pizza to launch in Vancouver on November 19
Epic pizza is something we are big fans of here at Dished, and if you are too, then we have some great news. You’re getting a new place to order stellar pies from later this week: Anthem Pizza.
The new takeout-only concept isn’t your average pie joint.
The punk rock-inspired purveyor will be offering “Pizza With Purpose,” meaning partial proceeds from each ‘za sold will go towards supporting worthy causes and charities in the community.
“Every pie we’re putting out is made with a very important ingredient: purpose,” says Anthem Pizza Founder Matt Thompson, who also owns and operates The Cannibal Café, Park Drive, Alphabet City, and The Five Point.
“The inspiration behind the creation of Anthem was not only to respond proactively to the COVID-19 pandemic by pivoting to a takeout-only model but also to do something good for local people and projects that need the love now more than ever. This is our Anthem — sung loud, hardcore and rebellious.”

So what exactly is punk-rock-inspired pizza? Let’s get to that.
Anthem will serve up a menu of 14-inch pizzas and sides named after famous rockers like the David Bowie-inspired “Hunky Dory” made with prosciutto, banana peppers, mozzarella and pineapple jam.
Other varieties include The Beastie Boys-inspired “Sabotage,” a combo of chorizo sausage, pepperoni, roasted chicken, prosciutto, and mozzarella, and the Iggy Pop-inspired “Blah Blah Blah” made with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, fior di latte, Grana Padano, Provolone, and extra virgin olive oil.
In addition to these creations, you can opt to order build-your-own pizzas also.
The pizza boxes will be something to feast your eyes on too, as they’ll be current-events-inspired boxes with a “DIY punk-rock aesthetic” featuring limited-edition works from David Bircham and other local artists.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, Donald Trump, and late punk rock legend Chi Pig are all featured on boxes.
To celebrate its launch, Anthem will be serving up a Motörhead-inspired “Ace of Spades” Margherita pizza for $10 (regular $18) from November 20 to 30.
Folks can order this promo pizza exclusively through Anthem’s website using the code ANTHEM and pick up at The Five Point Restaurant & Pub and Park Drive.
This deal is limited to one pizza per customer nightly while supplies last.
Anthem also plans to donate 10% of its November proceeds to Movember, which means you have even more of a reason to try this new pizza concept.

Salads and Wings
Anthem Pizza will officially debut in Vancouver on Thursday, November 19.
Patrons can order pizza, salads, chicken wings, and dips daily for pickup and delivery from 3 to 10 pm.
You’ll soon be able to order Anthem’s goods through its website or via Skip The Dishes, Uber Eats, and in the near future, DoorDash as well.
