A Metro Vancouver music festival has shared some sad news, stating it won’t be returning for a second consecutive summer.
In an announcement on its website, organizers of the Ambleside Music Festival confirmed the cancellation in an update.
“This is one of the hardest messages for us to share,” said the Ambleside Music Festival team in the online statement.

“Our team has poured so much heart into this festival, and we were truly hoping to return to Ambleside Park this August.”
Organizers explained that the GSL Group, which funded the festivals and other events at Ambleside Park, made the decision not to move forward with the 2025 event due to “economic uncertainties creating an unstable environment.”
This announcement comes after the festival said it would be taking a year off in 2024. In that announcement, organizers said they were postponing that year’s event to regroup and make the 2025 festival “even more spectacular.”
The District of West Vancouver music festival has featured some notable performers on stage in the past, including Ed Sheeran, Sarah McLachlan, and Neil Young.
Locals expressed their disappointment with the news online.
“This is so sad. Was looking forward to it,” said one Facebook commenter.
“Ugh…Vancouver can’t keep a damn festival going… It’s brutal,” said another.

Organizers thanked the festival’s fans, vendors, sponsors, and partners.
“You’ve helped us build something truly special on the North Shore.”
It also looks like the festival team isn’t giving up hope for hosting an event in the future.
“We’re not saying goodbye, but rather see you later,” stated the festival team.
“Until then, we encourage everyone to keep the spirit of Ambleside alive. We look forward to continuing this festival’s legacy in the years to come.”
