What a way to go out.
In his last match before beginning life in the Bundesliga, Alphonso Davies reminded everyone why Bayern Munich was willing to spend up to $22 million USD to get him.
In what was an otherwise meaningless game for Vancouver, an announced crowd of 25,348 showed up to see the 17-year-old sensation play for the Whitecaps one last time.
He did not disappoint.

Davies was a force all game long, but in the 28th minute, he sent Whitecaps fans into a frenzy.
The teenaged soccer star used his speed to get space before blasting a shot into the net from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Given his performance, the prepared tribute to Davies in the 67th minute almost seemed anticlimactic.

“Itās a perfect ending, the team got the three points, and Iām able to help,” said Davies, humble as ever, in the post-match media conference.
Davies will report to Bayern Munich in January. And when he does, Vancouver will be watching.
