Dreaming of summer? Albertans might be a little disappointed, seeing as it’s snowing in parts of the province today, including Calgary.

The northwest corner and the mountain regions west of the city got some snow this morning, but it’s expected to clear up by the evening.

People took to Twitter to share their displeasure and footage of the summer flurries.

There’s also a weather warning in effect for Banff National Park and Kananaskis, Canmore, which will see the most snow today. Those areas can expect to see up to 10 cm.

Environment Canada says the snowfall will be variable, but people who are camping and travelling on higher elevation roads need to be careful.

Driving conditions and road visibility will worsen. Be careful to watch for tree branches which may break under the weight of snow and block otherwise clear paths.

Communities that should be aware of the warning include Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis Village, Exshaw, Ghost Lake, Saskatchewan River Crossing, and Clearwater Co. near Siffleur Wilderness Area.
