This precious senior cat has been a resident at a Metro Vancouver shelter for far too long.

Julia the “Grey Goddess” has been homeless for more than 600 days — and is a staff favourite at the Delta Community Animal Shelter

Her 600th day in care was May 18.

“We’re not sure why Julia hasn’t found her forever home,” says shelter manager Ryan Voutilainen.

“She’s 13 years old, which is senior for a cat, but she’s playful and affectionate once she gets to know you, and she’s perfectly healthy and polite.”

This is her second time being featured on Daily Hive. We first wrote about Julia back in March when she had been in shelter for 543 days.

Staff feels she’d be well placed in a home with someone who can appreciate her gentle disposition. She is a princess and would prefer to be on the only pet in the home.

Julia’s biggest pet peeve is when her breakfast is a few minutes late, her relationship status is that she’s lived with dogs and cats but prefers sole human companionship, and her
favourite luxury item is her heated bed.

“Our shelter was never intended to replace the comfort and stability of a real home,” says Voutilainen. “Julia just needs someone to give her a chance.”

A short-haired tabby, Julia has been at the shelter longer than any other cat, and has been waiting for a home to call her own for some time now.

Every Thursday at the shelter is proclaimed “Julia Day”.

“Somewhere, there is a family out there who is incomplete without Julia, and we need to find them,” says Voutilainen.

You can meet Julia seven days a week at the Delta Community Animal Shelter, or can visit the shelter online or on Facebook
