Police seize vehicle after pedestrian killed in Abbotsford hit-and-run

After a pedestrian was was killed in what Abbotsford police describe as a hit-and-run on Thursday morning, a vehicle has been seized in connection with the case.

According to police, the incident took place just after 6 am when officers were called to an area of Highway 11 near Clayburn Road for a report of collision.

Upon arrival, first responders located a “badly injured” man in his 50s.

“Sadly, lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful, and the male was confirmed to be deceased,” said APD Const. Mike Willford in a release.

Traffic was impacted in the area throughout the morning as a result of the incident, and police describe the investigation as “still in its early stages.”

In light of this incident, police are also reminding people to be aware of road conditions and drive accordingly, and further remind pedestrians to wear bright or reflective clothing and use caution when walking on busy highways and roads.
