Police in Abbotsford say the owner-operator of a daycare has been charged with six counts of assault over her treatment of children in her care.
The Abbotsford Police Department began its investigation in October 2024 after getting reports about children at the daycare in East Abbotsford being assaulted. The alleged incidents date back to 2022 and involved children two to six years old.
Police made an arrest this week after following the evidence for months.
Now, 60-year-old Indu Takhar is facing six counts of assault in connection with the investigation. She’s been released from custody with court conditions not to go to any daycare centres or have contact with any person under 16 years old.
