Charity boxing gala raising funds so all kids can participate in a life-changing sport

All kids, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserve the opportunity to participate in a sport.

Athletics for Kids (A4K) is a privately funded Vancouver charity organization that raises funds to help make this happen, and now you can help out by attending its exclusive gala. Since its inception in 2002, the A4K Charity Boxing Gala has raised more than $1.1 million to help families bear the expense of having their kids participate in organized sports.

This year’s A4K event will take place on November 12 at the Hard Rock Casino as Vancouver’s only formal boxing gala. Over the years it has quickly become one of the most popular events in the city, selling out annually.

Participation in sport helps children build self-confidence and esteem, teaches them teamwork, encourages leadership, dedication, commitment, work ethic, perseverance, respect, and social skills, all of which are vital for helping kids become a contributing member of society.
