Wilson Chang Architect has submitted a rezoning application to the City of Burnaby to construct a townhouse complex at the southwest corner of the intersection of Royal Oak Avenue and Sidley Street.

The land assembly at 5168-5192 Sidley Street — comprised of two single-family homes and a vacant multi-family building — is a four-minute walk from SkyTrain’s Royal Oak Station, and just west of Burnaby South Secondary School.

As a condition of the rezoning application, the sale of the two lots that are owned by the municipal government must be completed.

The proposal envisions 22 two-bedroom townhouse units across three two-storey buildings arranged around a central courtyard.

A single underground level offers 40 vehicle parking stalls. The total floor area is 21,708 sq. ft., creating a floor area ratio density of 0.9 times the size of the 24,128-sq-ft lot.
